Kayseri Chamber of Commerce

Kayseri is an open-air museum adorned with its castle, city walls, bridges, kumbets, madrasahs, mosques, bazaars, fountains, birdhouses, vineyard houses, and residences, showcasing the most elegant, aesthetic, and enduring examples of Kayseri stonemasonry. Stone symbolizes durability, continuity, and permanence, carefully utilized in public structures like temples, palaces, inns, castles, and fountains. Despite being centuries old, nearly every surviving building in Kayseri today serves a public function.

Location
Situated in the northeast of the city center along Kocasinan Boulevard, a major city thoroughfare, the design area is complemented by Bozantı Park to the south. The area’s lush greenery plays a crucial role in the design concept, which also proposes a signal-controlled crossing where Kocasinan Boulevard intersects the site, enhancing integration with the city and its green spaces.

Program
The proposed Kayseri Chamber of Commerce Service Building is designed to accommodate diverse and flexible functions tailored to architectural needs. This versatility caters to various user profiles and schedules, promoting an interactive environment for different purposes.

Spatial Design
The design language integrates seamlessly with the natural surroundings and urban fabric, emphasizing compatibility with Kayseri’s urban scale. Sustainable features such as solar energy systems, rainwater recycling, natural ventilation, and ample natural lighting are integrated into the design, aligning with the city’s architectural traditions and building techniques.

Structure
An ecological canopy unifies the building and its components, linking the commercial square to the lower-level Taşlık area via an urban living ramp. Taşlık serves as a vibrant urban space with amenities like restaurants and a city stage, functioning around the clock. The assembly hall, centrally located and flexible in use, can transform into a city stage and event space as needed, seamlessly integrating with the Chamber of Commerce facilities on the upper levels. Interior gardens enhance spatial richness and are strategically incorporated as per planometric requirements.
