F&A Arslan House
Situated in the Gökbük village within the Finike district, the residential project exemplifies a design ethos aligned with indigenous architectural motifs while conscientiously considering the climatic nuances prevailing in the locale. This endeavor is underpinned by the ambition to craft an ecologically attuned and visually pleasing habitat. Nestled adjacent to the creek, the project accords primacy to the intrinsic allure of the natural panorama and landscape features.
Renowned for its distinctive stone edifices, intricate woodwork, and dwellings resonating with the essence of traditional Turkish architecture, Gökbük village epitomizes architectural heritage. Predominantly fashioned from locally sourced materials, the village’s edifices seamlessly integrate with the surrounding topography. The present project draws inspiration from the architectural tapestry of the village, with an explicit accent on the utilization of indigenous materials like stone and wood. This deliberate selection not only bestows upon the structure a rustic elegance but also fosters coherence with the overarching architectural milieu of the village. Furthermore, the design ethos champions minimalist and utilitarian principles to engender an ergonomic living milieu.
The scorching and arid climatic profile of Antalya emerges as a pivotal determinant shaping the design narrative. Encompassing the sweltering summers and mild winters characteristic of the region, the project orchestrates a symphony of responses to these climatic exigencies. In this vein, strategies revolving around natural ventilation and shading interventions embrace the deployment of expansive fenestrations and adaptable shading mechanisms to optimize internal airflow during the torrid summer months. Concurrently, provisions such as shading fixtures and verandas are instrumental in preserving a cool interior ambience.
The adjacency of the abode to the meandering stream has indelibly etched the natural tableau and landscape elements as foundational constituents of the design ethos. The landscaping paradigm espouses the incorporation of indigenous flora species, thereby not only buttressing environmental consonance but also nurturing a sustainable verdant expanse. Additionally, the spatial orientation of the habitations towards the watercourse engenders an organic fusion between the commodious terraces and interior spaces. Characterized by the meticulous placement of natural stone formations and endemic foliage, the creekside landscaping epitomizes a seamless integration with the natural milieu, featuring amenities such as meandering pathways and idyllic retreat alcoves. These curated enclaves are envisioned as integral facets of the natural landscape, envisaging a tranquil residential milieu for the inhabitants.
