Golden Horn (Halic) Waterfront
The Golden Horn, a historical and cultural gem of Istanbul, is integral to the city’s urban fabric and social life. This project aims to enhance the quality of life for both locals and visitors through revitalizing and redesigning the shores of the Golden Horn, guided by principles of historical preservation, environmental sustainability, and user-friendly spaces.
Festival Area and Viewing Platform near Bilgi University
The area near the Galata Bridge will be rejuvenated with a festival area and viewing platform, highlighting the city’s symbolic and cultural significance. This space will serve as a focal point for cultural events and provide visitors with a unique perspective of the Golden Horn. The design prioritizes waterfront accessibility through landscape architecture and environmental enhancements, aiming to blend modern aesthetic values with the area’s historic charm.
Nilüfer Park and Haliç Baruthanesi Surroundings
Nilüfer Park will be preserved and expanded as a haven of green spaces and cultural heritage. The restoration of the Golden Horn Gunpowder House within the park will create an inviting and secure environment for visitors. A pedestrian bridge project will seamlessly connect the park to the Golden Horn shoreline, facilitating easy access. By preserving historical and natural elements, this district aims to foster social interaction and meet the growing demand for waterfront spaces.
Sütlüce Sports Facilities and Public Sports House
Sütlüce Sports Facilities and the Community Sports House will promote active use of the waterfront by offering enhanced sports and recreational opportunities. Modern sports facilities aim to support urban health and well-being while providing open spaces for social interaction and community events. The design integrates principles of landscape conservation and environmental sustainability.
Sütlüce Pier and City Balcony
The Sütlüce Pier and City Balcony proposal will provide a range of activities, integrating a water sports center and recreational areas along the shoreline. Utilizing the old part of the Golden Horn Bridge, this area will cater to various urban needs with viewing points and activity zones. Enhanced transportation connections and accessibility will maximize the shoreline’s potential.
